Solar Water Heating
Geyserwise Solar PV Geyser Conversion
Unlike traditional thermal hot water systems or solar geysers, as they are commonly referred to, where water is cycled from a collector through pipes to the geyser by using either a circulation pump or natural convection, the Geyserwise system makes use of photovoltaic technology and a unique PTC AC/DC element to heat the water in the geyser.

How does it work?
The traditional element and thermostat of your existing geyser is replaced with the new dual PTC AC/DC element – this means the element can use DC (PV Solar panels) or AC (Eskom/Grid) electricity to heat up the water.
3-4 Solar panels (Photovoltaic) are used to generate the DC electricity during the day, this directly powers the DC element in the geyser meaning no Eskom/Grid electricity is used to heat up your water during the day. For late-night, early morning, or when additional hot water is required the AC (Grid/Eskom) powered element is controlled by the TSE Geyserwise controller and consumer unit. There are multiple timers that can be set, and a manual heating function is also available.
Advantages over thermal hot water systems are as follows…
* Any existing geyser can be converted
*Solar panels have a life expectancy of 20+ years
* No additional plumbing is required
* No pumps necessary to circulate water
* No risk of damaged panels in frost prone areas
* The water temperature can be controlled on very hot summer days – reduced risk of overheating problems
* Suitable in all weather conditions
* Suitable in areas where the geyser is not situated near the panels
* Modular system – can be expanded to build an off-grid power system for the home
